Hamburger Noodle Casserole
1, 8 oz., pkg. egg noodles, uncooked
1½ lbs. ground round, or use 80% lean beef
1 small onion, chopped about ¼ cup or you can use a red onion
pinch salt
½ teaspoon pepper
1, 32 oz., can sauerkraut, undrained, I use Kroger brand in a plastic bag
2, 10 3/4 oz. each, condensed cream of chicken soup, I have seen recipes for any cream soups
2 cups, 8 oz., shredded Swiss cheese
Heat oven to 350º. Cook and drain noodles as directed on package. While noodles are cooking, cook beef, onion, salt and pepper in 10" skillet, over medium heat 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until beef is brown, drain. In ungreased 3 quart casserole, mix noodles, beef mixture, sauerkraut, soup and 1 cup of the cheese. Bake uncovered for 45 minutes. Sprinkle with remaining 1 cup cheese. Bake uncovered for additional 5 to 10 minutes or until cheese is melted or mix ¼ cup of bread crumbs with 1 cup of Swiss cheese
